LIBY 1210 - Introduction to Information Literacy

Library 1210 (Friday 12 noon - 1:50 p.m., LI 2064)

Office hours: Fridays, 2 - 5 p.m. OR by appointment

Course Description

Welcome to the LIBY 1210 wiki. The goal is to develop “information literacy,” a lifelong process. To be information literate, you need to be able to create a strategy, ask the right questions, find information, and evaluate that information to determine if the information is valid, relevant, and can help you formulate more questions. In LIBY 1210, you will learn how information in a subject evolves, how it is organized, and how to follow a process to discover useful information. We will also cover the general use of a library and how to prepare information for research papers.
